Teaching creative writing and languages is not something I do in addition to writing. I consider it an essential (and incredibly stimulating) part of my job as a writer: sharing my passion for words and empowering people of all ages and experience to find and celebrate their own voices.

WHAT PEOPLE SAY
I was very impressed by the way Lou got my students writing and thinking creatively - by Skype! Even though she was in the UK and we were in Canada, her enthusiasm and passion were apparent and had a real influence on the students. Lou's writing workshop is a teaching and learning activity I hope to include each time I teach my course on French language improvement through creative writing!
PROFESSOR DAWN CORNELIO, UNIVERSITY OF GUELPH (CANADA)
Lou doesn't 'teach' creative writing workshops; she shares her experience and encourages us with compassion to explore ourselves in our own ways. In the process I felt comfortable writing what I thought I could not write, and it was through Lou's inspiration and support that I came to know more about myself.
MICHAEL TSANG, NEWCASTLE UNIVERSITY (UK)
Within just 3 hours, Lou widened my writing horizon. She offered me countless options, starting with the visual aspect of a text, use of white space, words' musicality. She taught me how to trim a text down to capture its universal essence, accessible to any readers. [...] Meeting Lou is a unique experience, and those who have met her know how lucky they are.
