About the event

During the academic year 2018-2019, I was a Writer and Visual Artist in residence at the University of Wolverhampton, as part of the AA2A scheme: Artists Access to Art Colleges.

I delivered group workshops and one-to-one sessions to talk about my creative practice and what it means to be self-employed. As part of Career Development Week, I delievered a workshop on Career Narratives, to help students learn how writing could help them decide - and then get - the job they really want.

I also set up a small participatory art installation in the Bessant Gallery to explore visual representations of multilingualism. You can see this work on Twitter by searching #MultilingualWolverhampton.

I have since then been part of AA2A Engage, 'an active membership group of around 180 previous AA2A artists who are prepared to act as role models for students, providing insights into professional life as an artist or designer-maker and into the creative community outside universities and colleges.'
